How would USA respond to a Russian nuclear attack on Great Britain?

My first idea. Why would Russia nuke Britain and start a nuclear exchange?

The OP needs a better start than that.

I agree, Britain is no longer an prime actor on the world stage. It lost all it's power as an Empire after WWII...

Britain is "an prime actor [sic]" on the world financial stage. Bigly.

Hope that helps.

There are no winners in a nuclear war.

Depends...

A nuclear war can be won, kinda. Say Russia has bunkers for most of its citizens. The USA does not. The alarm goes out and Rusians go to their bunkers. Russia sends out the nukes and will wipe out the USA. Russia gets destroyed as well. The only difference is; the Russians come out from their bunkers and rebuild, whereas the Americas are all fried. It is not pretty, but your enemy is gone.

Once Russia and China realize that the USA is a rogue nation and will never stop working to destroy them, just like the terminator, they may come to this conclusion. Some channels on YT say the USA has plans for preemptive nuke strikes against Russia. No one knows how it will all turn out. Trump himself said he does not know what he will do from day to day.

With any president other than Trump, you'd know they'd go to war, and would potentially launch nukes at Moscow, at the very least.

With Trump, I guess it depends on which kind of mood he's in that day.
It’s true. Trump puts us in danger. There have been no nukes used since ‘45, because of Mutually Assured Destruction. If Putin thinks the nuclear umbrella doesn’t cover Britain, he might consider an attack. The point that argues against it is that Britain has nukes of its own.

All stood together in the most important time ….war World War II. The Soviet Union, the British empire, and the United States.

Neo Nazis don’t like to mention that

And rightfully so. After all, it was the UK that perpetuated the war with Ukraine. Well, Boris Johnson and Victoria Nuland. But Biden/Nuland are no longer in charge and nobody takes John Bolton seriously so Trump can wipe the slate clean for America's part. That leaves the UK holding the bag. Check your cross hairs, Putin ..... and fire! :Boom2:
I was thinking about a response which many Americans would consider unethical. It is well known to American strategists that Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece are of great value to Russia. 1999 Bombing of Serbia was a very traumatic event for Russia.

Would USA be willing to do the unthinkable to avenge a nuclear attack on UK and deaths of millions of America's closest allies?

Whatever Russia does, citizens of Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece are innocent. But they are as valuable to Russia as Russia's own citizens.

If millions or tens of millions of English-speaking people are killed then the desire for revenge in USA may be stronger then any moral consideration.

John Mearsheimer's AI claims the US would likely be compelled to respond with significant military force considering its commitments to NATO and its principle of collective defense:

"The situation would also underscore the importance of nuclear deterrence, a concept central to my work on international relations.

"The U.S. would need to demonstrate its willingness to use its nuclear arsenal if necessary, to prevent further aggression.

"However, the primary goal would be to stabilize the situation and prevent a full-scale nuclear war, which would have catastrophic global consequences.

"The balance of power and the strategic calculations of all involved parties would play a critical role in shaping the U.S. response."

Every war the US has perpetrated since WWII was unethical.
It is well known to American strategists that Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece are of great value to Russia.
Who says? Orthodox Chrsianity?
1999 Bombing of Serbia was a very traumatic event for Russia.
No, it was another unethical war perpetrated by the US.

No.
and deaths of millions of America's closest allies?
The UK is not America's closest ally.

Sadly this validates the theory of Russian generals that Russia can launch a massive nuclear attack on UK with impunity.

In my opinion, Russian generals should know that American experts know that citizens of Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece are as valuable to Russia as Russia's own citizens.
