Endangering ocean life, reducing energy independence, INCREASE dependency on middle east and requiring

Companies hold lease options for years. We don't need any new ones.

OPEC's price basket is $71 and change. That's a good number for US producers since their extraction costs are the highest in the world.

Meanwhile, KSA has agree to increase production incrementally over the next 4 months. If the ppb goes to $65 that's good for US consumers and manageable for domestic producers.

Keystone XL only puts money in Chinese pockets and doesn't do ANYTHING for US consumers.

Sound like you will be alway mystified...

Oil is a commodity which is traded on the global market... This means it is subject to supply and demand... US even if it opened a pipeline and give away all its federal land still won't move the needle of supply that much... OPEC can sniff and take ten times that out in the morning..

So unless we have another Saudi Arabia worth of oil the supply of oil and thus price is set by OPEC...

There is an argument within OPEC with some countries like UAE wanting to produce more and other wanting less and thus driving up the price..

Don't be a fool thinking that US can get cheaper Oil than the rest of the world because it produces it... Sorry Oil is sold and shipped like any other commodity...

Best thing is to take away as much reliance on oil as you can... This then puts the power back in our hands again...

by the way are you even reading any of these climate reports or looking at these wildfires... This shit has got very real...Now there are reports the North Atlantic Current is weakening... This is very serious...

OPEC+ made the unprecedented decision in April 2020 to remove nearly 10 million barrels per day from the market in an effort to support prices, while U.S. producers also scaled back production.

These supply cuts, coupled with a demand recovery, have pushed WTI back above $70 per barrel, although the contract has pulled back slightly from that level in recent sessions.

OPEC+ is still withholding about 6 million barrels per day, which it plans to gradually return to the market. The group’s latest meeting ended in disarray after the UAE took issue with its baseline quota, briefly sending the oil market into turmoil. The group eventually came to an agreement later in July.

U.S. producers also turned off the taps during the depths of the pandemic, and they’ve been slow to bring production back online. According to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration, U.S. production averaged 11.2 million bpd in May, down from the pre-pandemic high above 13 million.
