I am in favor of many different methods to curb or stop illegal immigration, but there is no doubt if we would go after all mother fucking employers who knowingly hire illegals, put them in jail, take their business licenses, fine them severely, we could really end all of this shit.

Trumpers and other Americans are once again getting themselves all bent out of shape over a problem for which there is a simple solution. A wall won't stop illegal immigration, because it hits at a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

A wall may slow the immigrant flow down, but it won't stop it. The problem won't stop until you jail the employers who hire the illegals and treat them as harshly as the illegals, including jail time.

It's real simple. The illegals aren't stupid. They see the remittances coming back from the US Western Union, for thousands of dollars, so they know the money is up here, more in a month than they can make down there in a year. Wherever down there is, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras.

It's the remittances, stupid.

If they can stand pulling chicken guts for a few years they'll make up what they paid the coyote and much more. And they are used to pulling chicken guts anyway, being farmers, so who cares?

I've been saying this for decades.

We have a very bad illegal employer problem.

Hiring an undocumented worker should be.a felony with at least a decade of time in prison. Bankrupt them and destroy their business.

The minute they hire an undocumented worker that employer becomes a criminal yet our government and trump doesn't do anything about it.

The reason why the criminal employers are allowed to continue to commit their crimes is because the government and trump don't really want to solve the problem.

trump says a wall is the answer because he doesn't want to solve the problem. He wants billions of our tax dollars to be given to his friends who design and build that useless wall.

I'm sure there will be kickbacks and a lot of corruption.

The problem is the the law isn't enforced and penalties aren't imposed.

All they a face are fines and possible loss of business license. That's not a deterrent.

Impose real prison time. Destroy their business and bankrupt them.

All that needs to happen is for a couple of businesses to be busted. No other business will hire an undocumented worker.

What we now have is a joke. On purpose. The law was written so that no one is properly held accountable. Businesses build the cost of the fines into their balance sheets or used to. Now they have no fear of even a fine.

Go after ALL the criminals.

So Trump has been president for 2 years, why isn't he enforcing the law? Could it be ........

I'm not blaming that on trump.

I blame that on our whole system. A system that allows the rich to buy politicians who write laws that basically allow them to get away with hiring undocumented workers. Big business benefits the most from undocumented workers. They get to pay lower wages which keeps all wages lower. It helps to bust unions. Which results in less workers having rights and a living wage and pits working people against one another.

What I blame trump for is his own actions. He's caused a mess at the border and it's all unnecessary. Crossings have been down for about a decade. There is no crisis other than what trump has been manufacturing.

We don't need another wall. We already have one on a lot of the border. We don't need another one.

This is all a propaganda campaign for his base.

If trump was really serious about this he would be doing things that would actually work. Instead he's turned innocent people into boogiemen that Americans must be afraid of. While using the government workers of this nation as pawns.

We don't have the money to waste on a wall that is not needed especially when other solutions that actually work don't cost billions of dollars.

Trump has said several times in the last two weeks that he would settle for a very secure steel fence instead of a wall, as long as it did the job.

As for blocking wire transfers to nations south of the border, is there a way to determine if the sender is a citizen under procedures? If not, such a ban would be a bad idea.

Solving the problem is simple:
Enforce e-verify and heavily fine employers who don't obey the law,
Levy a fee on wire transfers of moneys to foreign countries. Either that or make the sender show proof of legal residence in the country - a green card or citizenship. No proof - no send.
