How to Hook Live Bait

Good advice. I tend to go through closer to the head but still high on the back.

Caught one of these recently about that size on live bait that call "herring"......(not me in the photo).

The "herring" were like these...only freshly caught in my cast net.

I've used a cast net at this same spot in Redcliffe to catch these; ideal baitfish as far as I am concerned.

This flathead was caught close to Three Mile Island while the nuclear plant was still active. I'd eat them only in a survival situations.

Some more so than others.
Mudcats are nasty,blues and yellows are tasty.
The bigger they get the less palatable they are.
