I don't always agree with this guy, he's a bit too left wing for me, but he has "nailed it" with regards to personal finance. Not everyone is going to get "rich". But you can live a lot better life if you follow this advice, particularly when you are young. Sacrifice "stuff", live below your means, and save your money.

You're welcome.

Yep, sacrifice in your early years is what it takes to live comfortably in your later years and do right by you and yours in the middle.

Everyone here knows I buy a lot of guns but there was a 15 year period where I bought nary a one, I just used the few I had to put meat on the table.

Same with vehicles, I kept a used K5 blazer for near 20 years and used the savings to keep my kids in private school.

There's few real shortcuts in life.

Yep. If you start early and carry that fiscal discipline into later adult years it really makes a difference. My business partner and myself are complete opposites. When his paycheck hits the bank, it's already spent. He has no spending discipline.

My dad taught me how to save at an early age. Having parents born and raised during the Depression helps. My daughter is the same way. Son is getting there.

Get educated or trained immediately upon graduation. Work work work, dont socialize, no dating.
Work, sleep, repeat. 7 days per week if possible. If one needs to live with their parents longer so be it. Stay on parents health insurance until 26. Do this for 30 years and one can retire in ones 50s. Best case scenario. The new american dream.
