Really try to exercise. When you hit that wall where you are not improving because of your other bad habits it will motivated you to break those habits one by one.
 
My wife had a book on fasting. I read it and was motivated as I saw myself in the stories of patients and disciples who had their lives changed by fasting. I did many short fasts that led to a three-day complete fast. I spent three whole days in bed, getting up only occasionally to go to the bathroom and drink some distilled water. It was the most excruciatingly unpleasant, and painful, time I have ever spent. In the end my life was changed forever. If I had not read that book none of this would have happened. Change begins with your thinking.
