How Ted Cruz Can Still Beat Trump

Unless Cruz or Rubio beat Trump badly in the South this is over.

Trump will win the Northeast and the Midwest, and most, if not all of the East and West coasts.

Trump's appeal to all types of the electorate is just too much for a conventional politician to handle.
Let's be clear: to a certain significant minority of the Republican electorate. We have seen absolutely nothing that he appeals significantly to the center of the left.
I was specifically talking about Republicans in the primary, but Trump will definitely pull a lot more Democrats in the general election than you think he will.
You are averse to facts and numbers.

I am sorry for you Cruz supporters. It is over. Rubio is the one establishment person left with any chance at all, and that chance is nearly gone. Unless Trump comes out and admits that he is Adolph Hitler's great grandson, he will be the GOP nominee. And even that admission may not be able to stop him. It is over folks...

Considering you didn't even give any numbers or "facts", you really have nothing to stand on.

Not all Democrats, I know some that would vote for Trump in the general election.

Says the person who does not give any facts, simply opinion. Show us the numbers of independents and Democrats who support Trump. You have none.

Why Donald Trump Can’t Win The White House
Pure crap.

Most Democrats are barely high school educated and Hillary will undoubtedly dominate the high school dropout vote, just as Obama did in both 2008 and 2012.

Republicans will vote for Trump over the cuckquean every day of the week.

There are no stats for that. Trump has not secured the nomination yet, and neither has Hillary for that matter.

But it is a fact that Hillary has gone way too far left for a significant chunk of her party and Trump's stances are much closer to what Democrats used to claim they were.

HRC is right in the middle of most of her party, and Trump is the worst candidate for the GOP since Goldwater. You are correct that no significant numbers of independents or Dems support a Trump candidacy.

You are a parrot. Many GOP will support Trump and many will sit out as they have been telling us they will do. With Dems and independents showing no interest in Trump, the GOP is going to lose . . . big. It was cost us the Senate as the Dems sweep as they have in the last two national elections.

You keep thinking that, if it helps you sleep.

Kosh, we have told you there is a path for Cruz to beat Trump, and that path is for Cruz to win back the evangelicals.

You don't like that fact. No one cares what you think.

There is no "path" for Cruz....he's a lying weasel and his campaign hit the wall in SC...it's that simple.
In your opinion. Show us that Cruz can't get the evangelicals back.
Why'd Cruz not get the SC evangelicals?
Because even SC evangelicals know that Ted Cruz is a weasel too far.

JimBowie1958 its over....Trumps momentum is just too much for the other candidates to overcome. Outside of Trump imploding (which some people think can still happen) its just a battle for the #2 spot at this point.

If any other candidate were in Trumps position the media and GOPe would already be anointing them the nomination. The narrative would be entirely different. I think even when Trump is being sworn in as POTUS people will be waiting for him to implode or some how lose ;)

No one likes Cruz and I mean no one.

As Evangelicals Lose Faith In Cruz, His Campaign Could Be Beyond Resurrection

Why Do Evangelicals Support Donald Trump? A Pastor Explains

Trump has won in key states so far in no small part because of white evangelical voters. Now, on the surface, that may not seem like a natural fit for values voters. Trump is a thrice-married real estate and casino mogul who, at times, has supported abortion. And he doesn't have the greatest familiarity with the Bible.

yes, Trump is a very unorthodox evangelical candidate, and yet he continues to garner not only the national polls but in many states, the lion's share of the evangelical vote.

evangelicals are divided between what I call the idealist and the pragmatist. The idealist are the ones who are supporting Ted Cruz and would say if we could just get a strong Christian in the White House, perhaps we could return our nation to its Judeo-Christian foundation. But then there are the pragmatists who say as much as we would like to have a faith-centered candidate, perhaps our country has moved too far to the left for that to happen, and so let's get the most conservative candidate who is electable. And many of those are going for a Donald Trump.

CORNISH: So faith is no longer the absolute litmus test in terms of casting that ballot.

JEFFRESS: It wasn't in 1980, and Americans at that time had a choice between two candidates. One was a sincerely born-again Christian who taught Sunday school in his Baptist Church and was married faithfully to one woman. His name was Jimmy Carter. The other choice was a twice-married Hollywood actor who as governor of California had signed the most liberal abortion bill in California history and whose wife practiced astrology. His name was Ronald Reagan. Christians overwhelmingly chose Ronald Reagan not because he was the most religious candidate but because he had the quality people thought was most necessary at the time, and that is leadership.
