How some of us saw the Trump-Zelensky encounter.

:)
To be honest I saw it as a simple misunderstanding of Zelensky's comment.

While I am a triple-Trump-voting MAGA Republican, I am appalled at the immediate campaign to blame the fiasco on President Z. He was merely pointing out that no "diplomacy" with Russia will mean a fucking thing without a security guarantee from either President Trump or NATO - which is essentially President Trump, like it or not.

Trump's implication that our commercial investment in the exploitation of Ukraine's natural resources would constitute an implicit security guarantee is unconvincing, and Trump's claim that Putin "suffered" from the Russia-Russia-Russia slander campaign of Trump45 is preposterous. Putin was laughing his ass off the whole time.

Not a good day for Our Beloved President. One hopes that his minions can patch this thing together, get a cease fire, and start a productive ball rolling, starting with bringing back the 3 million Ukrainians who fled.

I keep saying this. I support Trump, but I think he looked like an idiot the other day. Like you said, Z is saying you can't bargain with Russia without REAL power behind it, like a guarantee of security. He literally blamed Z for this mess, and for the US giving Ukraine money to fight Putin. Z did NOTHING wrong in that regard. Now what happened to all that money, we need to look into that. But rather than cut off funding for him to defend Ukraine, why not change the way its given to them, with checks and balances? I'd be fine with that.

Trump came across as an arrogant bully rather than an ally.

Good luck with that. I don't even think the Maytag repair man could untangle that mess.

Yea, I know.

But I would want to defend the innocent people of Ukraine. not Z necessarily. The US is supposed to be the moral high ground. You can't act like an ass on the world stage and be respected.

Trump lying about WW3 made it worse. Russia doesn't have the equipment to start a world war anymore. They've lost so much. And they know one nuclear launch and Russia ceases to exist so he won't do that, either.
