“Trump’s decision to end billions of dollars in federal grants to a wide variety of state and local nonprofits has crippled the delivery of critical public services in small towns across the country. Some of the hardest hit communities are located in red states like West Virginia, Alabama, North Carolina, and Louisiana, where voters backed Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024. Now some of Trump’s most fervent supporters are left wondering whether anything will be left of their communities in four years.

With Capitol Hill gearing up to pass a Trump budget that will slash federal domestic spending to its lowest level in modern history, many of the nonprofits that keep red states running are preparing to shutter operations. That will leave millions of Americans without access to basic medical and dental care, early childhood education, senior support services, and free mental health services for at-risk populations like veterans.

Trump pledged to foster a new golden age of economic prosperity. Instead, he’s presiding over more collapsing small towns than at any time since the Great Depression.”

And red states are mostly poor states, lacking the resources to replace lost Federal funds.

Red state residents suffer the consequence of Trump, hence the stupidity of voting for Trump.

Oh my....The moonbat freaks at Daily Kooks fretting over the fate of the summer teeth stump kickers out in flyover country, at whom they normally sniff and sneer?

Yet another pedantic, snobbish clinic on how they "voted against our own self-interests", as though they're too stupid to know themselves what's in their best interests?

And you assholes wonder why the people who make this nation work are abandoning you in droves?

When 77 million Americans cast their ballots for Donald Trump for president last year, many of them were voting for exactly the kind of disruptive, government-gutting change Trump has delivered.
Wow, thanks. Your article says it best: Trump is delivering on what America voted for! If there is a little pain along the way, we can take it just as Americans knuckled under in WWII to beat the Nazis. Promises made, promises kept. But I understand you would have probably surrendered to the Nazis or sold your fellow American out instead, just as soon as Germany threw a few bucks bribe money your way!

And red states are mostly poor states,
Ah no. There are 31 "red" states, and out of that, maybe 4 of them can be considered "poor," mostly due to location, lack of resources, and no big blue cities in them taking in lots of grift from the Chinese.

Red state residents suffer the consequence of Trump, hence the stupidity of voting for Trump.
Well-spoken, hence the stupidity of not taking bribe money and selling out your country for short term gains like a good democrat. Are you really that fucking stupid that you think you can turn people against Trump with your bullshit? This whole country is suffering, has been suffering from decades of corrupt democrat policies, like Joe giving enough money away to corrupt Ukraine to pay for 750 jumbo jets as Qatar just gave the one to the USA instead of spending it here instead on us.

Too funny, OB--- red states are the biggest victims of Trump's cuts? Was USAID in a red state? Is DC in a red state? Are most wasteful government bureaucracies, agencies, and lazy, corrupt federal employees in a red state? Most everything Trump has been cutting hurts the bluest areas of the country where most democrats reside.

Unless they all just suddenly moved to Louisiana. :smoke:

So once again, bullshit is as bullshit does:
  • Trump does nothing and get criticized for not helping red states.
  • Trump cuts waste and corruption and he gets criticized for hurting red states.
Meanwhile, I guess blue states are just disinterested observers even as many blue states like California and NY are going under for the third time. But boy, they got plenty of money to take in and house illegals!

Just no money to help out real Americans.

Maybe Volodomyr Zelenskyy will loan those poor red states a few billion dollars of our own money to help keep up pensions for people in red states, eh? :uhh:

Your concern for the MAGAs in red states just brings me to tears.

But he is not doing that. Why does MAGA hate America so much that they fall for Trump.
We have had Progressive presidential candidates and Presidents call half the population Deplorables and Dregs and more names. We cannot even think of anything that has common sense in it anymore in our nation with Progressives without accusations and call of hate. Many times, protest/riots and violence start for mundane agendas that turn into the worst accusations that one human has done to another in history. Fixing what is takes a backseat to fixing what you want to create.
