You need to ask that question in a year, not at the moment the tariffs went into effect. Will Trump end up getting better trade deals because of the tariffs or will he fail? Youd have to be pretty dumb to think that he will walk away from this empty handed. That just isnt a realistic scenario. The tariffs will almost certainly lead to better trade agreements, at which point the tariffs will be lifted.

Tax receipts wont be a factor in the midterms. The GOP is fucked if the trade wars arent resolved by midterms, but that isnt going to happen. They will absolutely end the tariffs when the time is right to end them.

If our economy is cooking in 2028, why would ANYONE want to vote for a democrat? There would be zero reason to take that risk. Americans have lost virtually all faith in the democrat party. Nothing short of a catastrophe will bring dems back into power any time soon.
