It certainly seems we Americans love to make new laws all the time. After all what do we pay all those corrupt politicians for if not to pass more and more laws that just restrict our lives?

88000 federal regulations were passed between 1995 and 2016.

Does anyone else find this excessive?

Just think of how many stupidly excessive state laws exist too.

It sort of surprises me that the leftists here try to make hay over congress not passing very many new laws last year......I mean who other than a leftist imbecile would want more federal laws? :dunno:

It is said that there are a million laws trying to enforce the ten commandments.

I am sick to death of the clamor for a “Congress” that passes laws! Passing shit only achieves shit. I’d be perfectly content with them doing what they’re supposed to do, instead.

Plus we have regulations which get promulgated by faceless and basically unaccountable legions of bureaucrats. As noting the OP. We don’t need or want most of those 90,000 regs

And then there are federal rules.

Enough of that shit. We don’t need most of them. We don’t want them.

A law Congress should pass would be for them to reclaim law making authority by imposing a sunset provision on all federal “regulations” unless reviewed by Congress and explicitly authorized by Congress within a fixed time period.
