Based on the available information, there is no official count of the total number of federal employees fired due to the recent executive orders. However, estimates suggest the number could be substantial:
  1. Over 75,000 federal employees had accepted a "deferred resignation" offer as of February 12, 2025.
  2. The Internal Revenue Service alone was planning to fire 6,700 probationary employees.
  3. The Environmental Protection Agency fired 388 employees.
  4. The Department of Health and Human Services was in the process of firing about 5,200 health workers.
  5. At the Federal Aviation Administration, between 200 and 300 employees have been fired.
  6. USA TODAY reported that the total number of layoffs could surpass 100,000 workers.
These firings have affected multiple agencies, including the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, and Transportation, among others. The focus has been primarily on probationary employees, who generally have less job security. While an exact figure is not available, it's clear that the scale of these layoffs is significant and widespread across the federal government.

Trump is a prick

Instead of releasing probationary employees for budgetary reasons, he sends them letters telling them they are being fired for poor performance.

Even if they have outstanding performance reviews or a recent promotion or performance award

How many of these people who are soon to be jobless voted for the convicted felon? :abgg2q.jpg:

yea he is just making unemployment a lot worse....i wonder if these 2 are going to create jobs somewhere to get these people working again...

Between the dems trying to embed themselves in the agencies and the rank featherbedding that goes on in every agency, I don't figure they will miss a lick to get shed of 50% of non-essentials.

Of course they were the low-hanging fruit.....They need to RIF GS-13s and 14s to really get to the meat of the poor employee warehousing problem.

Take my wife's old employer FEMA....Her department had 12 employees with a lead (the wife) and an overall supervisor.....14 people when she was made a lead.

When she retired there were 10 employees a lead (her), 6 GS-14 supervisors, and no overall supervisor.

She never even saw but one of the six....The rest were "problem children" from FEMA HQ that had been warehoused there instead of fired.....As far as the wife knew they did absolutely nothing....Most did not even log in.....How they got paid is also a mystery.

Well we would still be paying them the rest of the year....and there is evidence that all the DOGE numbers on everything have been hyped up.

It will take months for anything positive to appear.

Years for the real benefits to have an effect, unless the Gold Card idea takes off. That benefit would be months to appear, but everlasting.

"Trump is a prick" is an understatement. If a one is a probationary new hire, or had worked faithfully for years, but recently transition upward to a new position (becoming probationary in new position), they do not deserve a "bad performance" dismissal on their record.

My story beats yours..

These people have to apply for new jobs

They have to answer the question…. Have you ever been fired for bad performance?

Yea, but
Will only get you so far

Musk & Co are about breaking the system and then complaining that it doesn't work...

Then they will go for the Government doesn't work mantra...

America needs to wake up, they need to look outside US and say, why can't we have nice things too like Public Healthcare, Safe productive schools, proper environmental laws, a proper social safety net, more holidays, Parental leave, sick pay for chronic conditions, less stress...
The need to look at the country comparisons and see US further and further down...

Then look at these two Graphs
Highest Government Spending per GDP...

Lowest Government Spending

Musk said he wants to cut spending by $2trn which about 30%... That would put US in the bottom list than the top...

Why did Trump campaign on saying that he would make US like Angola? or Chad?

The system is corrupt. It is being destroyed. So, either help, or get out of the way.

Wouldn't want you getting run over.

The US spends 38 cents of every military dollar on earth. Our military is more powerful than the next seven countries combined.

It is a matter of priorities
The US prefers military spending to healthcare, education, modern infrastructure, social safety net

That shouldn't matter when the person goes to look for a real job, since the one they were in was wasteful.
Worked "faithfully"??? Fat chance.

They are a bunch of grifters...

They play ye for fools... Musk is extracting multibillion contracts from the government while cutting other programs...

Think about it.. USAID has a close to perfect audit record... Highly trasparent, all Ts crossed and Is dotted... Every cent accounted for...

The Defence Dept has 21 times the budget and hasn't passed an audit in at least 5 years... No transparency and famous for over spending.. No accountability.
Musk went for USAID first, and has no intention of going for defence... Musk has billions in contracts with the defence department.

Wake up, smell the shake down... I was one of those IT whizzkids 3 years ago... I would have been dangerous to listen too, thought I knew everything...

Trump is not only firing his loyal workforce but is poisoning the well to make it harder for them to be rehired

Not true…
He is firing those in the military involved in DEI or is a transgender

The grifters are the ones getting fired, and the NGO's who are losing their grants.

Dummy.
