The basic idea of fracking in simplest terms is:
Find oil bearing shale
Blow it up in a controlled fashion
Extract the energy
Rinse and repeat.
While there are many complications that is the basic idea. The first fracking proposal was to use shale as the preferred site of underground nuclear bomb tests. This would reduce costs a lot for DOD. Only problem was the proposed Test site was the Utah-Wyoming shale bed that was near the dormant super-volcano that is Yellowstone national Park.
So there has been a continuing drop in prices of fracking since the 1960s when the above proposal was scrapped but I have not seen a break out of how fast prices per bbl or BTU from fracking has been going down and I was wondering if anyone knows the Moore's law of fracking.
