I don't believe you can edit a thread title or delete a threat without a Mods assistance...

I think if you ask nicely it will be done, depending on what you want changed and what affects it might have on things already posted in the thread.

I know from experience that misspelled words can be corrected using the above technique...but I never have asked for the whole meaning of a thread title to be changed. That might not be fair to those who have replied and forgotten about the thread.
