2014 will be the critical year for whether the Teabaggers are turned back. If they do well in the primaries and make gains in the Senate, probably nothing is going to stop them from nominating Ted Cruz in 2016.

That's kind of crazy talk, given most of what Snowden exposed were policies Bush started.
They aren't policies that Bush started. They are eventualities Bush noted but it took obama to implement them. Democrats in the US can dream up any orgasmic wet dream they want. None of it does a single thing to change foreign opinion and foreign heads of state are linking up against obama. It wasn't Bush that ended a relationship with Saudi Arabia that existed since 1932, that was obama. It wasn't Bush who got our diplomats expelled from Brazil, that was obama. It wasn't Bush that betrayed Mubarak, that was obama. It wasn't Bush that supported the muslim brotherhood in Egypt, that was obama.
What we need is a few more Edward Snowdens.
And you are missing a big point; baby boomers are not self-centered narcissists (as a whole), bb were taught self reliance and personal responsibility. We don't expect, nor want, a government that thinks so little of it's citizens that it brainwashes them into thinking it knows what's best for them vs. they know what is good for themselves. IMO, this government views American citizens as brainless sheeple, incapable of making their own decisions. You should be insulted by this, not thrilled. A prime example of this is when the democrats forced the shutdown, national parks that were paid for many years ago, were closed. Park rangers were to to make sure the people felt the impact. Reid et al. absolutely refused to negotiate and began the name calling of Americans that didn't agree with them. Pathetic, insulting, and disrespectful.
As far as "allowing" the poor to suffer, there have been programs in place for years focused on helping the able bodied person to improve their life circumstances; however
they found it's easier to be on welfare instead of getting out there and working. And if you can't get by on 1 job, get a second. I did it and so did many other bb's. You learn the value of a dollar and how to budget money. And that's also a big problem with the gov't, right? They aren't earning the money they use to pay bills and a lot of $$ go unaccounted for.
No one has yet explained how Taxed Enough Already is a bad thing. All I read here is the the TP are"nutjobs" "terrorists" and so on. As if fiscal responsibility and small gov't is a bad thing.
Read Animal Farm sometime; it's less than 100 pages long. Then sit back and pay attention to how the gov't is treating Americans, particularly since the implementation of Obamacare. The surveillance programs date back to the 70s, authorized by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978.
These programs were fostered by all subsequent administrations, both democratic and republican – that’s why your partisan claim is idiocy.
Under GWB these programs were expanded and augmented under the auspices of the PA and similar security measures.
The surveillance programs exist at the behest of the American people, enacted into law by Congress, they are both legal and Constitutional.
During the Reagan/Bush and GWB years there wasnÂ’t a peep from you or anyone else on the right about the legitimacy of the programs; indeed, after 9/11 most on the right were instrumental in expanding the authority and scope of the surveillance.
Now that a democratic president is in office the programs suddenly become ‘an issue’ for the right.

Despite the wishful thinking on the radical left everyone has to admit that Tea Party people are highly politically motivated. They won't stay home on election day and they won't vote for a democrat under any circumstances. What does that tell you? Tea Party people will continue to elect republicans and they will try to do better in the next election to get a better candidate? What are democrats doing? If you believe the democrats forced the shutdown then you're not ready for Animal Farm yet.
I'm a Sociologist and Animal Farm is studied and extensively discussed in my profession. Please explain how the recent treatment democrats (and some RINO's) extended towards American citizens, does not reflect Orwell's depiction in Animal Farm. And yes, the democrats are responsible for the shutdown AND the Obamacare debacle.
