Now IF, as the liberals claim, the elections last Tuesday were a win for Democrats explain this one?

I agree with this summary of it:

Conceivably, this prohibition could prevent Mr. Obama from bringing any of the detainees to the US, including Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

Also, notice that the vote was unanimous. So the adage is true, after all. Elections do have consequences.

Even the Democrats finally realize that they had better start standing up to some of Mr. Obama’s more insane ideas, if they still want to be around next year.

That is EXACTLY what has happened. These elections have taken some of the arrogance out of Democrats and they have begun to fear that these "troublesome" peasants can still vote them out of office.
