The House will attempt to override President Trump’s vetoes of two GOP-backed bills Thursday, a move that could showcase GOP division.

Veto override votes are standard procedure, and a matter of high privilege in the House that forces the vote. A White House official said the votes do not indicate any disunity between the White House and the House GOP.

The two bills concern niche issues: one to fund a pipeline delivering clean water to southeastern Colorado, and another granting the Miccosukee Tribe authority to manage part of the Florida Everglades.

The bills were seen as so bipartisan and uncontroversial that they passed through Congress by voice, without a recorded vote. Both bills passed the House in July and the Senate in December.

Many Republicans are examining the issues for the first time, since neither of the bills initially passed with recorded votes.

Veto overrides are typically rarely successful, since they require a difficult two-thirds majority vote in the House and Senate.

The article is a Trump hit piece but I culled through it to get the pertinent points.

I wondered if they were going to go for a override to revive a 75 year old project so land developers can profit.

I don't know much about the NA Everglades bill other than NAs just being NAs.

Forcing a recorded vote is a way to expose the "bipartisan" BS.

The override effort will fail.

66.666% in both houses? Never.

The House may do it. There are enough retiring R’s who will suddenly find a backbone on the way out the door.

The real question is whether the Senate will get 14-17 Republicans to take a stand. I doubt it.

I understand Rep. Lauren concerns. The problem is much of Colorado government is a corrupted Prog cesspool. Hopefully we find billions in corruption there also.

Miccosukee Casino and Resort: The name sounds made up. It's really an injun whorehouse.

The Democrats have Massie's vote.

Massie doesn't vote with the democrats.
The democrats vote against the GOP.

Massie has legit reasons to vote against the RINO's, because he's a fiscal and constitutional conservative.
The democrat just vote against anything the GOP wants.
