If Democrats won't cut spending, these people will, even if it is due to a government shutdown. In fact, we should just shut down the government anyway, including the FBI and the DOJ.

And how do you propose we secure the border?
Well, you drip; since we aren’t doing it now even without a shutdown, it hardly matters.

But we could secure the border by enforcing the laws already on the books. And we could continue to build the fucking wall. And we could be a whole lot more proactive in keeping the illegal (would-be) immigrants out in the first place. And we could demand that our immigration “judges” order the removal of the illegals brought into the immigration “courts” at a much higher level.

Can't they shut down FedGov without impacting SS and EBT?

Seems it oughta be possible in today's marvelous high tech world.

You want links to rebut MAGA allegations and assertions? That's not how it works, as His Orangeness found out this week.
Even discounting the fact that you spew nothing but irrelevant troll nonsense, this board is designed to promote discussion by making points and supporting those points with credible sources. Now run along and talk with some prairie dogs, it is evident you have spent adequate time with them.

You lie about me, and expect that from your ilk. You do not promote discussion by making allegations without support.

You are a poser. :)

“I’m convinced it’s happening,” Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., told reporters Wednesday, pointing to House conservatives who have downplayed the effects of a shutdown on Americans. “I just think there’s too many people that think there’s some benefit in that.”

We know who to blame if and when.

When it comes to government shutdown my attitude is thank goodness for Jimmy Carter. Up until then spending over the debt limit cap didn't have serious legal repercussion.

In 1980, the federal government was looking at another lapse in appropriations at the beginning of fiscal 1981. In the buildup to this expected funding gap, President Jimmy Carter asked then-Attorney General Benjamin Civiletti to look into whether a law passed in 1884 permitted federal employees to work without appropriations.

That law was the Antideficiency Act, originally passed to prevent federal agencies from spending more money than Congress appropriated, and imposing criminal penalties on any federal employee, officer or executive who violated this.
