In a Republic, actually
ā€˜Trump was caught on a hot mic lashing out over his inability to get his picks approved because of Senate rules, exclaiming, ā€œI can’t appoint anybody!ā€

Interim appointments have become a huge problem for Trump, as handpicked interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan’s illegal appointment has scuttled Trump’s revenge cases, and Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba has been forced to step down after being disqualified.

Trump was asked about Habba’s resignation during a roundtable on Monday, and riffed for a solid three minutes about how the Senate’s ā€œBlue Slipā€ rule has kept him from getting the picks that he really wants.’

Trump wouldn’t have any trouble making appointments if he nominated qualified, impartial candidates – not incompetent blind partisan Trump Cult members willing to pursue Trump’s lawless campaign of revenge.

How is the Blue Slip not a violation of the separation of powers. The Senators from any given state can simply vote no if they don't approve. The notion they have given themselves additional unconstitutional power in appointments is ludicrous.

What bullshit! Democrats are all suffering from TDS and it shows. BTW Halligan's appointment was legal, until the judge decided to summarily take part of her typical allotted 6-month tenure away by saying that Halligan's tenure included the former prosecutor's tenure. And no, it was NOT an 'illegal appointment.'

The only TDS that exists is called Trump's Deranged Supporters. We see penty of them here.

The judges do know the law better than some dumb Trump-worshipping lackey online troll.

Is that why liberal judges keep getting overruled? They forsake the law for anti-American liberal agenda.

In 1946, as World War II ended, there were significant discussions about China's potential as a future power. General George C. Marshall, sent by the U.S. to mediate between the Chinese Nationalists and Communists, recognized the importance of China in the post-war world. He believed that China could emerge as a democratic great power.

Key Observations

  • Political Landscape: The Chinese Communists had gained substantial strength and control over regions in North China. They were seen as a formidable force capable of influencing the future of the country.
  • U.S. Involvement: There were concerns that the U.S. might be drawn into supporting the Nationalist government led by Chiang Kai-shek, which was struggling against the Communists. The belief was that without significant foreign aid, the Nationalists would likely fail.
  • Predictions of Power Shift: Analysts warned that if the U.S. did not adjust its support and strategy, China could fall into a power vacuum, potentially leading to a Communist takeover. This was seen as a significant geopolitical concern, especially in the context of the emerging Cold War.

The warnings in 1946 highlighted the precarious situation in China and the potential for it to become a major power, which ultimately came to fruition with the establishment of the Communist People's Republic of China in 1949.

And a moron like you doesn’t see the complaint as valid?

LOL

Trump knew full well that he was on microphone, and used that as a way to message Senate Republicans, publicly, to stop allowing Democrats to block his nominees, particularly with Blue Slips.
Nothing gives Trump Haters a chubby more than thinking they've "caught Trump" in a "gaffe". Such is the sad existence for those afflicted with the TDS mind virus.

Remember the Senate Majority Leader giving himself additional unconstitutional powers by refusing to bring a Presidents SCOTUS nomination to the Senators for a vote?

The Executive does not have the authority to set the Senate calendar. Apples and oranges. The Blue Slip is a direct challenge to appointments not found in the Constitution nor codified by an Act of Congress signed by the president.

There is a term for those that say it's wrong for the other side to do it, but when my side does it - well that's OK.

Give me a minutes, it's on the type of my tongue.

Two separate issues, not sure what you are on about. By all means show me in the Constitution a time frame in which the Senate must hold a vote, hint, you won't find it. Nor will you find the Senate was given the power to go beyond advise and consent by simply creating 'rules' without an Act of Congress signed by the president.

The word you are searching for in my assessment is: CORRECT.

Just like McConnell.

The Senate gets to set the rules. He decided as the Majority Leader to not process the Presidents nomination.

The Senate get to set the rules. The Blue Chip option to not process the President nomination.

The word was hypocrite.

Hardly, in the case of the Blue Slip it adds unconstitutional limitations between the branches of government. In the case of scheduling there is no Constitutional standard, nor does it cross beyond the legislature.

You are still wrong, whatever words you pull out of your ass.

Speaking of pulling words out of your ass…

It wasn’t ā€œschedulingā€, it was the Majority Leader refusing to advance the process.

But hey justify the hypocrisy.

That is a purely Senate issue that does not touch on other branches of the government.
