Honda and Nissan to begin merger talks amid EV competition
Automakers eye eventual three-way tie-up with Mitsubishi as industry shifts

While I guess this makes sense from a business standpoint, it strikes me as not good for the auto world.
Nissan in many ways is a dead-man-walking, with some of its main cars and engines having significant engineering defects, while Honda, at least in my view, has a relatively pure reputation for fine products and almost no mistakes. Even when a Honda doesn't sell well, it is. never because it isn't a good product. And that goes for not only cars, truck, & SUV's, but also their MC's, generators, and lawnmowers.
I understand it but I don't like it.
