The heck with Walmart for raising their prices and blaming it on the tariffs. Home Depot says it won't be doing the same because they've been diversifying their sources.

Home Depot says it doesn't expect to boost prices because of tariffs

"Home Depot doesn't expect to raise prices because of tariffs, saying it has spent years diversifying the sources for the goods on its shelves.

Billy Bastek, executive vice president of merchandising, said during a conference call on Tuesday that Home Depot's suppliers have shifted sourcing across several countries and that the company doesn't expect any single country outside of the U.S. will represent more than 10% of its purchases 12 months from now.

“We don’t see broad based price increases for our customers at all going forward,” he said.

Other companies, domestic and foreign, have warned customers that price hikes are on the way due to a trade war kicked off by the U.S."

Have you recently bought any lumber there?

They have the highest pries in the industry already.

i have been going there more this year than usual but mainly because Lowes has become an understaffed poophole.

Ford announces employee pricing for customers, Hyundai announced no price increases either. A bunch of media created panic and hyperventilating about nothing.
Typical libtarded behavior.
Any company raising prices doesn't deserve my business anyway.

You obviously do not buy a lot of lumber. There are lumber yards that sell it for a lot more. Then there are places that sell number 1 grade for twice as much

You mean they aren't charging tariffs on cars that were already built before tariffs as they want to clear them from the lots in time for 2026 models? How radical.

This was smart planning of them.

When I worked over 20 years ago, we began diversifying on our key items that drove our business...all at the time, manufactured in China...before I had left, we were able to find one shoe factory in Texas to manufacture our number 1 mens shoe, they could only produce about 5% of what we needed at the time, and cost us near double the amount to make them in the USA, but with how much less the ones made in China were, we could handle making no profit on the American made ones...we had hoped to get the USA manufacturer to enlarge their factory and make 25%+ of what we needed.

We were able to move some production to Vietnam and some to Indonesia as well, though smaller production, for this number 1 shoe staple.

Even way back then, we were planning for the case of civil unrest in China or with China!

No. They announced there will be no price increases due to the tariffs.
The companies know if they radically increase prices, that will cost them far more in lost sales.
Try to pay attention and not be so aloof.

Try to be honest. Ford said employee pricing is through July i.e. the cars already built (as I indicated). It does not apply to all their vehicles. Ford is also trying to bolster their stock by maintaining volume (i.e. marketshare) as profits are in the toilet.

Well, they build crap vehicles. Not worth their current price. If they wish to survive, they better not raise prices until they figure out quality control.

Basically they are saying they have diversified in their manufacturing and only have 10% of their manufacturing production in China, so 90% of their goods to sell will not be affect by the higher China tariffs. They didn't put all of their eggs in one basket!
