I like attending movies in theaters, actually, because it's a fun experience. That being said, with the ticket prices, the INSANE concession prices, and the cost of gas to go, it's not necessarily something I'm willing to do for a movie I don't expect to absolutely love now that I have the option of sitting on my comfy couch with my own snacks and streaming it for a couple of bucks. Or better yet, going to my sister's house for the evening and sitting on HER couch with HER snacks and letting HER pay a couple of bucks to stream it.

I think Hollyweird is just going to have to cry in someone else's beer over this, or maybe start making movies based on what audiences want to see, rather than how virtuous they themselves feel about it.

Her masters have ordered her to want to go to theaters, and she obediently got busy wanting what she was told, as she always does. Indies and streaming services are actually filming original material and with new approaches, with overall good success.

Hollywood is still caught in remake/reboot mode, and their Progressive mannequins just can't shut up.

It's true. All of the best movies and TV shows I've seen lately were indie or originals from a streaming service.

The more black centric movies they make the fewer people will go. 13% of the population cannot receive 90% of the attention and expect to make money. Wait until the black superman explodes its stinkbomb. Black entertainers will have to buy out theaters and give tickets away like they did with Black Lightning.

Thing is, I don't think people mind movies starring or about black people, however much the leftists probably tell themselves that's the problem. It's the hyper-conscious "Look how anti-racist we're being", coupled with the fact that they seem to think that's all that's required and no quality is necessary, that makes people stay away in droves.

Covid-19 has helped me realize that going to the movies isn't that great anymore. I bought a 75" TV and a great sound system and now I just pop my own popcorn, stream a free movie. We rarely go out to eat however we will do take out, we now value our privacy and real don't care to be around lots of people. So, Hollywood can do what it wants and cry about their not making millions off the people they look down on.

It's the hyper-conscious "Look how anti-racist we're being", coupled with the fact that they seem to think that's all that's required and no quality is necessary, that makes people stay away in droves.

Really? I kind of see the opposite. That when you have movie that features a minority or a woman in a leading role, you have the usual whining from the white fragility crowd about how white men are being disrespected.

We certainly saw that with the new Star Wars trilogy, where the White Fragility crowd was upset about the female lead being a "Mary Sue" and the black stormtrooper and the Asian chick being from the planet Ching Chong Chang.
