First man ‘functionally cured’ of HIV - Yahoo! News
Is that what I gather from this?
Are the facts:
His HIV was cured.
It took a bone marrow transplant which is not cheap or full proof.
Only one of a hundred folks has the right bone marrow. And apparently they can test for it?
Cost be damned we could cure HIV if there were enough folks willing to suffer the pain of bone marrow donations?
There are some social issues involved. Like if your HIV can get cured if you just carry insurance there goes one of the reasons not to become a junkie.
Also, did this fella have full blown AIDS?
