Every once in a while archaeologists make great discoveries. Sometimes the discovery is so surprising that they cannot explain what they have found, how it was formed, or determine its value. Following is a list of mysterious artifacts and some recent discoveries that still baffle scientists.

The Piri Reis Map
In 1929, a group of historians made what can only be described as a remarkable discovery, written on the skin of a gazelle. After study and research, they found that it is a genuine map drawn in 1513 by Piri Reis, a well-documented admiral of the Turkish navy. He depicts Europe and North Africa, the coast of Brazil, several islands , and even Antarctica, which was thought to be discovered more than 300 years later. The most confusing thing is that it not only shows Antarctica, but also describe this continent as a land before it was covered by ice sheets more than 6,000 years ago, and it is very detailed.

The Judaculla Rock
The rock gets its name from Cherokee legend that an ancient giant named Judaculla was the one who left marks on its surface. This rock was of particular importance to the Cherokee Indians and the site where the rock resides was a sacred place where ceremonies used to be held. It is a curved soapstone outcrop covered with more than 1,500 petroglyphs. The rock paintings date from between 2000 and 3000 BC, and quarry tools were discovered during the excavation of the stone. No other stones in the area were found with similar markings, making the stone even more mysterious.

We have been this smart many times before and we use our knowlege to destroy our selves over and over. Just the rise and fall of civs. I mean we have gliffs of helecopters and light bulbs right on the pyramids. Ancient man was just as smart as we are.

The inevitable.
