That talking point trial balloon went down in tatters almost as soon as it was launched when the State Department head for Libya stated under oath before Congress that budget cuts had NOTHING to do with the decision to decrease the number of security forces in Libya! First of all, the GOP cut a budget "request", something that happens almost every year under almost every Congress...whether it's controlled by the GOP or by the Democrats! As Charlene Lamb testified to under oath...budget restraints were not why a security draw down took place in Libya. The amount of security there was what the Hillary Clinton led State Department wanted in Libya, despite repeated requests from diplomats there that their security detail not be shrunk. That wasn't something the GOP did...that was something that Hillary Clinton's people at State did!

As for the difference between Benghazi and all of the other embassy attacks that you cited? The others were suicide bombings that for the most part suddenly took place outside of our embassies and killed local support staff. Benghazi on the other hand was an attack IN FORCE on our consulate by armed attackers that lasted for hours with little to no response from our government. At Benghazi our Ambassador was killed by terrorists. Not some local guy who mans a guard post outside our embassy...Christopher Stevens was our Ambassador to Libya!
