I'm not sure how you can know that the vast majority asked for assylum and were paroled, which is what I assume you meant. With an unknown number of got aways, and a huge number of visa overstayers, likely most illegal aliens are in fact illegal aliens. Not to mention the many that snuck over the border and only asked for "assylum" when caught.

Now one can argue that under those facts too many were permitted to do that but the argument should be factual.

Asking for amnesty under a false pretense and with no intention of showing up for hearings is illegal, even if the president of the United States is encouraging people to do exactly that.
