I attempted to join the US Army twice… 1992 and 2001. In both cases they decided that due to my medical conditions they could not or would not grant Kyle a combat MOS, regardless of Whst ny qualification scores looked like. So I chose not to enlist. I had no interest in being a cook or truck driver.
First, I want to apologize for the snarky tone of my earlier response.
I'm afraid that I have a visceral reaction to comments that make light of war because I served in Laos during the Vietnam War and, almost 60 years later, still occasionally have nightmares that frequently include the smell of burned human flesh and memories of what modern munitions can do to all human tissue.
I do not feel in any way superior or more patriotic than those who did not serve in the military but am repulsed at the thought of even more young American blood soaking distant soil so that Israel's right wing extremists can expand into "Greater Israel" and militant Zionists maintain its nuclear regional hegemony.
After I was discharged from the US Army, I left the US because returning Veterans were treated differently 55 years ago as your father can verify.
It didn't take long before I started walking and hitch hiking around Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean.
I eventually made it to the Middle East where I walked and hitch hiked around the Islamic Middle East for about 10 - 11 months.
I was treated wonderfully by my numerous Muslims hosts who gave me rides, insisted on paying for snacks, showing me nearby archeological wonders.
I made it back from Iran, Syria, Turkey, Iraq and made it to Southern Lebanon just in time for the '73 War.
Since the borders were closed, I spent about a month living in and around the Palestinian refugee camps and heard first hand accounts of he Nakba from Nakba survivors who lost their homes, families, farms, olive groves to foreign Zionist gangs (Haganah, Irgun, Lehi etc) who were armed and trained by Germany's WW 2 SS (1)
I had hoped to go on to Israel, Egypt etc but the war made that much difficult.
In a way, I'm glad for that time in and around the Palestinian refugee camps where I got to see photos and hear eyewitness accounts from Nakba survivors.
While all forms of MSM are saturated with Holocaust stories, anything to do with the Nakba are heavily censored by our pro Israel MSM (2)
Finally, there are many ways other than military service to benefit this country and one of them is to fight against all efforts by Israeli lobbies to sacrifice young G.I.s for the Zionist delusion of a "Greater Israel" (3)

Zionism and the Third Reich
EXCERPT
“In cooperation with the German authorities, Zionist groups organized a network of some forty camps and agricultural centers throughout Germany where prospective settlers were trained for their new lives in Palestine. Although the Nuremberg Laws forbid Jews from displaying the German flag, Jews were specifically guaranteed the right to display the blue and white Jewish national banner. The flag that would one day be adopted by Israel was flown at the Zionist camps and centers in Hitler's Germany.
Himmler's security service cooperated with the Haganah, the Zionist underground military organization in Palestine. The SS agency paid Haganah official Feivel Polkes for information about the situation in Palestine and for help in directing Jewish emigration to that country. Meanwhile, the Haganah was kept well informed about German plans by a spy it managed to plant in the Berlin headquarters of the SS.
Haganah-SS collaboration even included secret deliveries of German weapons to Jewish settlers for use in clashes with Palestinian Arabs.
In the aftermath of the November 1938 "Kristallnacht" outburst of violence and destruction,
the SS quickly helped the Zionist organization to get back on its feet and continue its work in Germany, although now under more restricted supervision. ” CONTINUED
