Don't worry. Democrats are nothing if not racist hypocrites when it comes to "immigration". Over the past dozen years, almost a million Iraqis applied for immigrant status in the US. Many, very legitimately, applied for asylum status, but almost none have been allowed in. They've probably all been murdered now, or if they haven't been, they soon will be.

It's one of those areas where I think liberals don't have a leg to stand on. In this day and age, it makes perfect sense to put hefty fortifications around your country (both to the north and the South). I would envision something like this:

Or better yet, some sort of ship channel that runs from the Gulf to the Pacific so that we may bring waters to the desert out there..Of course, we don't do big things like that any longer now...do we?

Anyway...Liberals are all wet on this topic. It just makes good sense.
