Maybe the problem here is that you're trying to conflate a simple protest with an "insurrection."

Hell, it wasn't even a protest! Not to begin with! I have plenty of pictures taken that day by foreign media not run by the democrat party that shows people just went there in support of Pence to encourage him to use those alternate electors because something obviously smelled fishy with the 2020 election especially how it was being rammed through quick as possible and no questions were allowed to be asked.

It was as big of a clam up as Covid-19 had been.

J6 did not become a protest, and finally a riot until the cap police were ordered to start throwing those exploding grenades into the crowd of people standing around. One cap police is even on record caught on cameras saying at the start of it that they've been set up and they don't nearly have the back up and support there to deal with a crowd that size having royally pissed them all off.

I have plenty of photos the American media doesn't want to show you.

• People bring many guns and weapons to an insurrection. Trump supporters essentially brought none.
• Insurrections involve the overthrowing of a government; the only death there that day was one of the unarmed interlopers.
• Insurrectionists generally come prepared; the J6 people there that day didn't even have a map nor know there way around or where they wanted to go.
• Insurrectionists don't go to an insurrection wearing heavy winter coats carrying big flags, bringing their wife, girlfriend, children, baby stroller, maybe even pets.
• There is much video of the cap police opening doors and showing people around. Odd behavior if they were being overthrown.
• After a few hour delay and the delegates hiding in the basement came up, they certified Biden anyway.

It has occurred to me that what if Pence was looking like he might use that alternate elector option after all and the democrats staged the whole Pence rally into a J6 "insurrection" as final pressure on Pence trying to do so and to just go ahead with the Biden mishap.
