Here is an issue our two years olds will have to deal with in fifty years or so

If we don't stop turning our noses up at climate change this is one problem that our kids will 'thank' us for..Water Is Running Out So Fast, Wall Street Is Trading It Like Gold and Oil

Water shortages have nothing to do with climate ... and everything to do with overpopulation ... climate is expected to be warmer and wetter in 50 years, but no where close enough extra rainfall to solve our water problems ... er ... your water problems ... it rains every day all day long here, getting rid of all the clean fresh sweet drinking water is the bigger problem ...

Expanding populations and heavier use of existing water supplies is what will cause the future water crisis ... not to mention the pollution from the extraction of fossil fuels poisoning what we do have ... same water supply, double the population, something will have to give ... a tiny bit of climate change only helps a tiny bit ...

Water shortages are local, and largely caused by incompetent and corrupt governments, e.g., Colly-Forn-Ya.

I have always thought that in some areas, the Powers that Be ought to consider a second type of usable water - call it "non-potable, but clean" water - and focus our attention on providing sufficient potable water only when human consumption is involved. Do we really need to wash our cars and water the lawn with potable water? I think not.

Of course, where most Americans live, water shortages are a purely theoretical issue. We have more rain and snow than enough in Western Pennsylvania most years.

The concept of grey water usage is interesting, and there are some examples already, mostly places like golf courses and institutional users that have the ability to sequester grey water use from potable use with 100% effectiveness.

The biggest hurdle is overturning a century of people being used to all potable water coming from sources, and teaching them to not assume water is potable just because it comes out of a faucet or hose.

take you a bunch of 55 gallon drums to the Arctic and collect all that fresh water melting from the glaciers, you lazy fuck
I merely post an article about what could be a future crisis in water availability and that makes me a 'lazy fuck'?..what is it with you tin foil hats anyway?..oh wait..it's called trolling. Never mind.

So why isn't California trying to improve it's water retention systems to meet the challenge?

Oh right, they would rather bitch about climate change and protect some smelts than build the damns and reservoirs needed to assure water storage capacity.

The article starts out with..'America is running out of water' and ends with ' A recent study published in the journal Earth’s Future and highlighted by Harvard University found that by 2071, almost half of the 204 fresh water basins in the country may fall short of meeting the monthly water demand. The projected shortage comes down to two key factors: increased demand as human population in the U.S swells; and diminished supply because of climate change. But shortages are already happening in many parts of the U.S.'..yet you make it all about California? This is a NATIONAL problem..

Wait?! I thought your stunning and brave comrade AOC told us the world was going to end in 8 years...? Now it's 50 years?

This is just another post from another one of the constantly miserable leftist fucks on this board. /fail thread

There is zero actual link to climate change, they just assume it to make their AGW point.

You are arguing with a person with a Masters in ChemE and 23 years experience in water and wastewater treatment.

It's still a national problem and not just about California as you insinuated.

California is an example of how they create their own issue, and conveniently blame AGW to get off the hook.

NYC's reservoirs are only 5% below normal right now, and we haven't had a true drought since the 80's.

If they haven't upgraded any infrastructure in 20-30 years, then yes.

So back to square one..if something isn't done about fresh water supply soon, our two year olds will face a human crisis here in the states by the time they are in their 50s.

The problem will only occur if the only response is to lower people's quality of life in the name of AGW.

To fix this you build dams and lakes for surface water, you dig better wells and you explore for other water sources for ground water.

This won't be solved by making me give up my incandescent bulbs.
