Put on your jacket....go outside and look at your heat pump for your unit....if it's a block of ice or encased in ice you aren't going to get any heat out of it tonight. Might as well turn it off.

Then call the maintenance emergency line and have them fix it.

They will come out in the morning and fix it.

Just turn on the oven and open the door then turn on the clothes dryer, then do a flash dance routine.

Put heat sources in your apartment.

Put a large pot or 2 of water on the stove...cover it...bring it to a simmer then turn it on low. Leave it on low all night.

Put a small fan on low aimed at the pot(s) of water to blow the heat around.

You could also fill the bath tub with hot water.

You got a building boiler...hot steam flows through plumbing to heat your apartment....the boiler has an issue.

You aren't the only one freezing. Call maintenance and tell them everyone is freezing.

just make sure you have blankets and have all the windows closed tight ... you will be warm and comfortable tonight with temps in the 40s outside .
