Hegseth orders removal of Army public affairs chief amid broader Pentagon purge

17 Feb 2026 ~~ By Jennifer Griffin

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has ordered Army Secretary Dan Driscoll to remove Col. Dave Butler from his current job serving as chief of Army Public Affairs and chief advisor to Driscoll, who is currently in Geneva serving on the negotiating team to end the Ukraine war, Fox News has learned.
Butler served as the head of public affairs for the Joint Chiefs when Gen. Mark Milley was chairman, and was slated to receive his first star. His name appeared for two years in a row on an Army list of 34 officers selected for promotion.

Commentary:
Personally, I believe Sec. of War Hegseth is doing a great job. When you're getting flak from the politicians you know you're on target.
Everyone one forgets when Barry (Soetoro) Obama purged nearly 200 officers and replaced them with officers that would allow DEI and trans within the military.
I see no mention of that in Griffin's report.
Unfortunately, people like Vindman, Miley and Austin tarnished the upper echelons of our military, while Generals, Colonels and admirals like Ham, Gaouette, McChrystal, Lohmeier, H.R. McMaster, Col. Macgregor, USMC General Mattis, USMC Colonels Margolin, Christmas and Scheller that were doing their jobs and purged of their military duties.

I'm not sure what the origin is of that horseshit line but Pete has been a small minded, petty, incompetent, ass kissing fuckup since day one.

It is unusual for a defense secretary to weigh in on the firing of an Army spokesman.

Mr. Hegseth has made no secret of his hatred for General Milley, who President Trump has suggested should be executed for treason because he reassured Chinese counterparts in the turbulent aftermath of the 2020 elections that the United States military was not launching a war.

Two defense officials said that Mr. Hegseth had blamed Colonel Butler for news articles late last year that compared him unfavorably to Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll.

I got as far as "barry soetoro" and realized I was reading the words of a moron.
Bye now.

Good. He needs to rid the Pentagon and ALL of our military from any radical left-wing influences.

100%.

Aug 22, 2025 — Hegseth, a former Fox News host, fired Kruse due to “loss of confidence” in the 34-year Air Force veteran.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired a top Pentagon official whose preliminary report on damage to Iran’s nuclear sites by U.S. strikes allegedly angered President Donald Trump.

From February 2024 until Friday, Air Force Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse was head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, whose early assessment of the June bombings found damage to be not as severe as the president claimed.
