Hegseth defends returning Confederate monument to Arlington National Cemetery

That animosity is still being stoked and nurtured by the revisionists, the likes of whom built this monument.

No revisionism, just their viewpoint on the matter.

They aren't pretending they won, that would be revisionism.

revisionism is claiming things didn't HAPPEN the way they actually did, it's not differences of opinions.

Holocaust denial is revisionism.

It just shows what terrible winners leftists are. They need complete subjugation before they move onto the next thing.
Marty thinks that giving black people rights means the white people are being subjugated.

That is a lie. You never heard of how states were admitted on a one-for-one basis? Flunked history?

More appeasement to the South
It was not going to last and that is where Lincoln intended to slow the expansion of slavery

I will say, you never miss a chance to make a total fool of yourself.

Thats is not what that word means, not at all.

The whole triggered thing started as a reference to "trigger" words, that were warned of because it was thought some college students couldn't handle hearing certain things without having a melt down.

The whole concept implies not being able to deal with some words or concepts.

Responding to you and calling you a dipshit isn't being triggered, it's calling a spade a spade.

The revisionists downplay the importance of slavery to the conflict and downplay the inhumanity of the practice.

The creator of the statue put a slave following their master to war on it because he wanted people to know that the slaves were on the side of the confederacy.

And you've melted down - had an intense emotional response that prevented you from simply addressing what you've quoted.

Please show me where I want do deny people rights based on race.
The south wanted to deny black people rights and you criticize the north for wanting to subjugate the south.

Lincoln did nothing! He did not have the power. His reputation was what prompted the secession and actual fighting, Your knowledge of this period is that of a high school dropout, which is probably accurate in your case.

We don’t respect the attempt to rewrite history by a lot of deeply racist people.

My point stands. Good men can respect other men that fought bravely to defend their homes, even if they were on the other side.

You of course, not being a good man, can't understand that.

Slavery was the poison pill that made the conflict going to blows inevitable, but there were other issues that contributed.

Some of them did fight for the confederacy, it was just a tiny number and late in the war.

You don't think at least a few of the house servants were A-OK with things staying the way they were?

Revisionism involved downplaying the role of slavery in the Confederacy and claiming states rights and defending an invasion of the yanks,

Revisionism portraying slaves as happy with their lives

Revisionism involved glorifying Southern generals while they vilified Grant, Sherman and Sheridan

Revisionism involved maintaining the trappings of the Confederacy as an insult to southern blacks

What were they defending their homes from?

I'm insulting you because you deserve it. You have the intellectual standing of a turnip.

It's a bonus of dealing with twats like you.

Arguing the relative impacts of the issues, from slavery, to the agrarian/industrial divide, to tariff rates as well as railroad rights and land grants.

George Henry Thomas was disowned by his family for going against Virginia. I really don't see how Grant, Sherman and Sheridan have been vilified.

Blame the last one on JWB and the Radicals who fucked up Reconstruction.

Good thing those “few” slaves got a memorial to their struggles to remain in bondage.

Because it’s not like the rest of slaves got any note on the memorial to the “heroes” that fought to keep them property.

This is really embarrassing. If you weren’t such a hack, you’d have given this up a long time ago because there’s clearly only one reason you’re going to theses lengths.
