I'm sure there were some white Democrats like Trump who left the party when we nominated a black guy but we made up for them because of how many blacks showed up who wouldn't have otherwise.

I honestly don't believe Trump thinks Obama did a bad job. Not based on the praise he heaped on Clinton. I believe Trump realized his only way to win was to run as a Republican. A DIFFERENT kind of Republican. In 2015 he said he would raise taxes on rich people like himself and he said Bush lied us into Iraq. I know how Trump won a lot of people over. But it's a con. Trump will say anything to win. Even lie. Do you need an example? I'll give you a great example you can't deny. Compare this Trump quote to this picture:
