The Feast of Trumpets begins with Rosh Hashanah. The celebrations continue for ten days of repentance, culminating on Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement. On this final day, Jewish tradition holds that God opens the Book of Life and studies the words, actions, and thoughts of every person whose name is written there.

"L'shanah tova" May it be a good year

Leviticus 23:2424
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

Repent:eusa_pray::eusa_pray::eusa_pray::eusa_pray::eusa_pray::eusa_pray::eusa_pray:

What's the major difference?
“Atone” takes it a step further.

- “Repent” means to recognize your wrong and vow not to do it again. It is totally future-oriented. Let’s say I hit an animal in anger: repent means I vow to never do it again and be nicer to the next one that comes along.

“Atone” requires more action. It requires that one not only vow not to repeat it, but to seek forgiveness from the one you have wronged, if possible, and, also if possible, do something to help offset the wrong. So if I was unkind to an animal, not only do I vow to be kinder to the next, but I could give a donation to an animal welfare group to atone for the sin.

Atoning for sins is what the priest did in the Holy of Holies with the blood of the animals to atone for his sins and the sins of others. Today we refer to and recognize "Jesus" as our blood offering that has atoned for our sins.

Thank you that is a very good explanation.

It all comes down to "faith"

...but faith in what?
faith in who?

We must pray to God on behalf of what God has done for us in sending us Jesus who is the propitiation for our sins. Romans 3:25.

People will hear the word of atone, but they will actively to the word "repent"
Not Jewish people, to whom this thread was directed.

You know…..you tried to be nice by sending a New Year’s wish to Jews, but then you are being inappropriate saying we need Jesus to atone for our sins.

Please consider what you are doing: wishing Jews a Happy New Year and Day of Atonement, and then slapping them by indirectly saying Gd will not accept our atonement.

Very nice. Thanks.

Basically this is all about your hatred of the Jews. You have animosity against the Jewish people. You have chosen to speak negatively of the Jewish people concerning their actions of repenting. Jesus calls such people who lie on the Jews "Vipers and of your father the devil". A satanic demon.

Then you lie and say God's Feast Days are for the Jews only. You do not have Bible for that wicked lie. What's really inappropriate is that You fail in your understanding of the Holy Bible. There is no way for you to separate the Jews from the born again Christian believers who are of the root of the Jewish tree. As Jesus is a Jew and Jesus created the Church of believers who come in at the root.

Then you try, resulting in your greatest demonic failure to separate the born again believers from Jesus.

Gentiles Grafted In - Romans 11:11-24

11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion[a] mean!

13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14 in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them. 15 For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? 16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root[b] of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. 22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. 23 And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

We born again believers... we are "Esther" we are the ones who must go before the King on behalf of the Jews to stand for the rights of the Jews and ensure their lives are spared from the wicked philistines who represent Haman in the Book of Ester. We know them today as the Muslims. It is the Muslims who seek to destroy and murder the Jews/Christian believers. From Iran, Hezbollah, the American democrats, etc...

What affects the branches also affects the root.

Wow. Your post is very antisemitic. You PRETENDED to wish us a Hapoy New Year when you started this thread, but it was really to tell the Jews “repent!!” as a way of admonishing us for not believing Jesus was the son of Gd. I explained to you that we ATONE, not repent. Repent is a Christian concept.

And then, on this morning of Rosh Hashanah, you say I have spoken. Negatively of Jews who “repent”? You mean the 2% of Jews who have abandoned their religion to convert to Christianity? I never even thought about them when I described the difference between repent and atone.

I’m not going to waste time on someone like you any further.

Guten Rutsch.
