It was actually yesterday, August 1st, marking 44 years since it first aired. I'm not sure if the channel still exists. They stopped playing any kind of music in the late 1990's. What are some of your favorite videos? Mine include "Thriller" by Michael Jackson, "Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits and "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel.

I liked Digging in the Dirt by Peter Gabriel and The Old Man Down the Road by John Fogerty....including MANY others which I've mostly forgotten. I liked Leave Me Alone by MJ too.

A-ha's take on me was probably one of the more innovative videos for its day, not that it is especially my favorite song. I used to watch The Real World back in the day but not much else on MTV

MTV was on the cutting edge of coolness 40 years ago.
Is it still on the air?
I watch music videos on Youtube nowadays.

This lady DJ has a cool music channel

Now people can create songs using AI.
