Robert E. Lee was a stone-cold loser Robert E. Lee was a stone-cold loser. No general in U.S. history was defeated as unequivocally and as totally as Lee. For all his supposed strategic skill, his army was entirely destroyed. One-quarter of those who served under him were killed, and an...forums.sailinganarchy.com
Sherman was a Man who understood War. And his scorched Earth policy was to make the South unable to fight. Destroying the Rails and burning the Crops did more damage than all the bullets and cannon balls fired.Lee and Grant were great mean. Sherman, maybe not.
Stonewall Jackson? That is what men look like.

Sigh, if more people were willing to defend their home against federal tyranny, maybe we wouldn’t be in the position we’re in now.
I’m pointing the finger at myself too.

Those who honor Robert E. Lee should remember that Lee opposed flying the Confederate flag after the war. I fully agree that Lee was an honorable man. Lee did not embrace the virulent racism that many of his fellow Southerners exhibited. He did all he could to promote healing and unity in the years following the war.
I do not bash the Confederacy or Confederate heritage. I think secession was a rash and unjustified action, but I acknowledge that the Confederacy was a democratic republic that had a vibrant free press and that respected its citizens rights just as much as, if not more than, the federal government did. I acknowledge that the Confederate constitution allowed for the admission of free states to the Confederacy and banned the overseas slave trade. I acknowledge that the Confederacy began moving toward gradual emancipation in late 1864. I acknowledge that several thousand blacks voluntarily served as combat soldiers in the Confederate army, along with about 5,000 Hispanics and several thousand Native Americans, not to mention about 10,000 Jews.
This being said, I think Southern heritage defenders should follow Robert E. Lee's advice and stop displaying their Confederate flags, stop putting Confederate flag bumper stickers on their cars, and stop wearing clothing that shows Confederate symbols.
I also think Southern heritage defenders should stop bashing Lincoln and take the time to do some balanced reading about Lincoln's actions and views. Lincoln was no tyrant. The likes of Thaddeus Stevens and Benjamin Wade were definitely tyrants, as they proved after Lincoln's death.
Might be true for some.Today, those that fly the flag, are not supporting division but simply celebrating their heritage as part of a larger AMERICAN PATRIOTISM.
It is those that are attacking them for their heritage, that are being divisive and racist.
LEE, existed at a time BEFORE America did it's BORG LIKE ASSIMILATION of the confederacy into our American history.
He could not foresee how that would work out. And it worked out wonderfully.
THe problem today, is asshole lefties, who want to suppress white heritage and culture.
Might be true for some.
For many it is a regional pride sort of thing.
For others, myself included, it is a middle finger to DC.
