I wonder how long it will take for them to figure out that nothing in the article identified the man as an 'illegal alien', and the cops weren't notified until after the father had found and rescued his daughter.

I read the article....
It's amazing to me how the police took credit for stopping the crime when they abjectly failed on multiple levels.

First the guy was running around half naked in the middle of winter, carrying a knife, and wasn't detained in the first place. That's a massive red flag. (Completely ignored) Then we discover he is here in this country illegally. Again another failure of police patrols not knowing the people in their patrol area.

The girl's father locates her and rescues her and then calls police....who then arrests the criminal.

I'm actually surprised they got that part correct instead of arresting the juvenile and father at this point.
