On Thursday, House Republicans were unable to get themselves together and agree to debate a military funding bill, to say nothing of a continuing resolution to avert a government shutdown. Democratic Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries held a press conference to make sure the message to the American people is clear: This will be the “unnecessary Republican shutdown of government.” This is an inherent problem with the Republican Party’s inability to govern.

We've seen this done before. The Republicans shut down the government, partially, twice in the 1990s. Why? Because they wanted to end Medicaid as we know it. Same group of people, different version, in 2013, they wanted President Obama to repeal his signature legislative accomplishment, the Affordable Care Act,
They shut the government down for 35 days. By the way, when the government shutdown began, Donald Trump was president. Republicans controlled the House and the Senate in December of 2018. They shut themselves down. That's how much it's in their DNA.

It's never going to happen righturdicans. You're never going to get your rightwing wishlist of bullshit. Not in the past. Not in the present. Not in the future. Not ever. In fact, we've already started the reversal process of the last 50 years, of rightwing bullshit. The only reason that's not going faster than it is now, is because of control of the Supreme Court. Just as soon as you lose that control, and you will. You're done.

The GOP asks for spending that's not out of control and you on the left refuse to compromise. You do that because you've got the Main Stream Media in your back pocket and you know that they'll paint this as a problem caused by the Republicans. So we go further in debt. Debt levels that aren't sustainable. You see it as a "win" and it's not.

The problem is in the GOP. So of course they get blamed. McCarty is too weak to control a few nutjobs.

With all due respect, Arlette? The problem is we're spending WAY too much money! We can't sustain this level of debt. That's not a Democrat or a GOP problem...that's a Federal Government problem! Our Government is bloated and wasteful. It needs to be cut back. Instead our "leaders" keep kicking the can down the road.

A shutdown is not the solution

Threating to shutdown the government is yet another act of domestic terrorism by Republicans.
At this point, your party calls ANYTHING that deviates from what they demand -"domestic terrorism". Are you people so foolish that you can't see where this eventually leads? Do you imagine that when the nation falls into internal violence, it won't affect your lives just as negatively as those on the Right? That kind of insanity will do NO AMERICAN any favors. We will all suffer, fools...

A shutdown is not the solution
That's quite true. The point is that there is no way now to solve this problem. A serious crash is coming and after it occurs and massive economic pain and disruption are felt across the country, our "leaders" in DC will have a "way out". They'll kick off a brand-new system of economic activity based on a central bank digital currency. The day that comes into effect will be the day America dies.
Oh, the name of the nation will continue. The freedom will vanish.

A shutdown is not the solution
So the Democrats should agree with the Republicans to cut spending and thus prevent a shutdown. It’s the same thing every time: the Dems demand that Republicans give in, or else it’s the Republicans’ fault.
