Two hundred years from now, at the very least, a reasonable range of guns will be available to anyone who can pass a somewhat invasive household background check, with a registered owner for each weapon taking responsibility for what happens with that weapon.

The gun show I went to in Colorado this month had police checking everyone leaving with a gun making sure their paperwork was legit.

Everyone had background checks done on them if they didn't already have a permit to carry on them if they wanted to buy a gun. Some dealers were going to pay for the background check to sweeten their deal.

Nobody should be able to buy a gun at a gun show without a background check and the police making sure they are allowed to leave the building with that weapon...period.
