He thought he was picking on some skinny white kid.

That kid must've been incredibly scared. There's no excuse for pulling a gun on someone for some trivial indiscretion. I heartily applaud such a deserved retaliation. Although, in my opinion (and without possible gang repercussions) they should've taken it further and inflicted lasting damage, possibly a bullet to the belligerent's shin.

He should never have let the little thug up. Keep it up until he's not moving any more. The thug did not have to be shot with his own gun. It would have served equally well for pistol whipping.
