Q. Why did the Senate require 60 votes to pass this amendment, since it was NOT filibustered? (It got 54 "yes" votes.)
A. Because it allows Democrats to pretend a Republican "minority" is thwarting the will of the people and insulting the families of the Sandy Hook victims (even though this amendment would not have prevented their deaths).
