No...criminals break the law.......the problem is that known, repeat gun offenders are let loose by democrat judges, politicians and prosecutors over and over again, and then they go on to commit gun crimes..
Again...you are saying that the rape victim should have done more to prevent the crime....that is what you are saying.
I'm saying that too many guns have flooded our country too easily, and now we have a HUGE problem on our hands that even incarceration can't solve.
How is it a huge problem? As more Americans own and carry guns our gun murder rate went down 49%...how is that a problem? Our gun crime rate went down 75%...how is that a problem? Our violent crime rate went down 72%...how is that a problem?
The actual problem is that democrat politicians, judges and prosecutors keep letting repeat, violent, gun offenders out of jail over and over again..they are the ones committing our gun crime, not the law abiding gun owner who owns and carries a gun for protection.
In fact, on average, each year, Americans use their legal guns 1.1 million times a year to stop these criminals from committing rape, robbery and murder and many times they stop mass public shooters.....and then the democrats let these criminals out of jail.....
You hate guns, so it blinds you to the actual problem....open your eyes....and stop supporting a political party that lets criminals out of jail so they can commit gun crimes.
We went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 17.25 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2018...guess what happened...

Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.
