Gruber: Biggest Ass in America?

Watching Jonathan Gruber's ass get hauled before a House Committee, I think it was the first time where I saw someone sitting alone on an island....no friends. The Republicans and Democrats ripped him.
This you praise? The whole Democrat party lied about Obamacare and gruber was their MVP. Now he's persona non grata because they need a whipping boy. They all lied and depended on the stupidity of the American voter. Hypocrites!
I dont think it was praise. I think Left was getting some schadenfreude out of it.
He put Democrats on the same level as Republicans. They're not. Republicans didn't lie about Obamacare and Republicans appealed to the INTELLIGENCE of the American people in exposing Obamacare for what it was. And lastly Republicans voted against it to a man. Obamacare was 100% a Democrat lie.

Not putting Democrats and Republicans together. I think Gruber is the poster child for the liberal elite. He stated what conservatives always knew about him and his kind. I was just observing he was alone on an island up there. Democrats are not going to save him.

The SCOTUS won't consider that.

They're deciding if federal exchanges can provide ACA plans with subsidies in states that do not have thier own exchanges.

Calling Americans idiots, which I agree is true, has nothing to do with that

The tape where Gruber admits that the subsidies were meant as a carrot might be evidence in legislative history they will consider.
Ya think?....I guess it might have to be considered, or at least they will decide to consider it, if the lawyers offer it.

If it's compelling, the GOP lawyer might do t, but if it isn't, they won't risk it.

The guy was a paid consultant or contractor on the development of the legislation. Seems to me that the issue is the intent behind the words of the law, which presumably one of the key architects would know.
The SCOTUS doesn't care about that.

They'll examine the law, and decide if subsidies from the federal government can be offered in states through the federal exchange.

That has nothing to do with whether or not they lied to get the law passed.

No, actually they do care about that.

The SC is not there to create law. That is the purpose of Congress.

They are there to INTERPRET the laws currently on the books and if the administration of those laws is within the intent of the legislation.

And it is not that lies were told to get the legislation passed. In the case of the subsidies, lies were not told. The language in the law is pretty damn clear.

What the problem is that, when faced with the fact that the carrot was not enough to entice states to join, the Administration decided that the term "state" meant "state or Federal government."

Gruber has said that the original intent was "state" as State. Not Feds.

So, yes, they will be interested.
This is the most activist SCOTUS in memory. Exactly what Rightwingers always complain about. Shows they are full of shit.

Citizens United was an example of the court making law.

So was Hobby Lobby.

Should make you liberals happy, then, because the Warren Court did nothing but.

I was a career civil servant. The overpoliticization of the Executive Branch (and I don't have time to go back over the Pendleton Act and why we have a professional civil service) in order to advance a pure political agenda as opposed to doing what is right for America regardless was disgusting.

The creation of new victim classes, the incompetent political appointees, the bad decisions, period.
those are generalizations, not examples.
he's none of the things you're inferring.

Oh, but he is. He is an incompetent Chief Executive.

I had to work in his administration. It was terrible.

You're failing left and right to make your case. And no one MADE you work under his administration, either. [[[[twit]]]

I was a career civil servant. Until I could retire without affecting my standard of living, I had no choice.

Both my parents had civil service jobs that gave me a leg up in life. My father went from active duty to civil service.......his entire adult life serving the country. And the country respected him for it. Today's civil servants are NOT RESPECTED BY CONSERVATIVES.

Figure it out.

Civil servants are respected when they treat the public they serve with respect.

The ones today, not so much....(cf., Lois Lerner).
Your witch hunt failed miserably but you keep bitterly clinging to it.

Look at this worm trying to weasel out of Trey Gowdy's withering questioning.

It's amazing to me trey gowd got elected. The line of his questioning was hilarious, "what did you mean when you called the American voter stupid?" What did you mean when you wished the law was transparent? Gruber was acting like a weasel, had that Beene I would have laughed at Gowd and said is this a trick question? Or are you just going to retread my quotes it is self apparent what I said and yes the American voter is stupid they voted for you. Next

Gruber: Biggest Ass in America?

No.

The biggest asses in America, were those who believed him and voted for his agenda.

Im glad you appreciate being called stupid and being lied to.

As a voting block yes the American vote is stupid they can get votes by lies. And sway only certain parts of the country to garner votes and win elections by uninformed masses of people based on emotion and lies. The line of questioning was painful what did you mean by....it sounds like gowd is a moron.

Heck I knew it was lies from the town hall meetings I watched. Obama said surgeons make 20k 30k 40k per amputation they perform and doctors would rather remove your child's tonsils so they get a payday instead of giving the child a throat locenge. And the behind the doors meetings with big pharm which stopped lowering the price of drugs by using Canadian generic drugs. And how they ran it thru congress without the guaranteed down time obama promised to read the bill. If you believed any of that yes you are stupid.

This is awesome! Gruber providing a disclaimer of bias because he helped write the ObamaCare law. More proof he lied at the Congressional hearing.

Since Gruber was not in danger of charges being filed for anything, he should have taken the opportunity to embarrass Republicans like Issa with their own words about the ACA.

What were they gonna do - cut off his mic?

Gruber groveled before Issa and Gowdy, sorry not for what he said but that he got caught saing it.

But other than embarrassment, he wasn't in any trouble.

He should have used the opportunity to turn the tables on Issa.
