They did a lot for kids

so...so ...many.....I can not even start.....from the 1950s 1960s 1970s and some from the 80s

I was never parasitically mated to TV. Had a few favorite cartoons I guess.

Only stuck with two shows over the last twenty years - LOST and the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

The original Twilight Zone was literally the only show I would stop what I was doing to watch as a kid.

Did not get to watch a lot of television growing up. Folks did not have one when I was very young then moved to an area that could not get an reception.

The field is too big. You have to break it down to sit-coms, variety shows and dramas. For my money the old Ed. Sullivan show was the best variety with a close second of Carol Burnett. The old Mary Tyler Moore show was one of the great sit-coms but inane stuff like the A-Team could fall into the drama or sit-com category depending on your I.Q. Hill Street Blues was a decent drama and so was NYPD Blue.

don't know if it counts but i'll throw in 'all my children'. kept me watching it for 26 years b4 it finally went off the air.
