Apparently not because you were unaware of the 2017 IG report. Again, republicans did an excellent job molding this narrative and preventing any competing information from filtering through. There’s a thing called first impression bias. People are most prone to believe the first thing they hear even if they get better information later.

As for your “apology”, it’s nothing more than more narrative crafted by a Republican, Jeff Sessions.

Personally, I find this whole scandal ridiculous. 501c4s are not supposed to be political and the IRS should police this to make sure that is the case.

The fact that either political party can be outraged that their organizations are being targeted is a tacit admission that these organizations are in fact political.

The end result? The IRS is too afraid to do their job and political organizations get away with violating the law.
