Washington (CNN)Sen. Lindsey Graham is asking for federal aid for his home state of South Carolina as it battles raging floods, but he voted to oppose similar help for New Jersey in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2013.

"Let's just get through this thing, and whatever it costs, it costs," Graham told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room" on Monday of the devastating floods in his home state.

Graham was among the Republican senators who opposed a federal aid package in January 2013 to assist states hit by Hurricane Sandy, but now he doesn't remember why.

Republicans are such hypocrites. Lindsay says he can't remember why he voted to let the victims/his fellow Americans suffer from the effects of one of the worst storms to hit the East Coast in history -pewsh!-

This is not necessary a 'flip flop', but he problem with some politicians in Congress.

If a problem is affecting some other part of the country, they act as if it is on the other side of the world.

But when disaster strikes their constituency, they demand help and as much as possible.

If they were really dedicated to the country, then they should help any Americans struck by disaster. That is good government.

Lindsey Grahams behavior is jut one of the reasons why most Americans hate Congress.
