"I used to have to walk to school 5 miles, up hill, in the snow...both ways."

Remember the old story often told by parents / grand-parents. It MAY have been a little bit of a reach, but in some cases it wasn't far from the truth. Well, say good-bye to THAT story. No child will ever grow up to be able to tell their kids that ever again, thanks to the 'gubmint'.

Woman arrested for making daughters walk to school while supervising them - Hot Air

"A 32-year-old Marion County, Tenn., mother faces an April court date on child neglect charges after deputies found her driving ahead of her young daughters as she made them walk miles to school on Valley View Highway."

(The school was 2 - 3 miles away.)

STORY:

The girls missed the bus - for whatever reason - and the mother was making them walk.
- Do we know if the mother was REALLY going to make them walk the whole way? We definitively can't say.
- Would the mother have stopped and let them in the car if she saw they got too cold or could not make it? Again, we can not say.
- They were walking their dog as they walked along...
- Were the girls ever UN-supervised? NO.

The government, however, decided that making children WALK, supervised, as a form of punishment / behavior-correcting education was 'illegal'.

SERIOUSLY?
- Spankings? Ok.
- WALKING...supervised? Be real!

We freak out about how obese this country / our kids are getting then legally punish parents for making their kids WALK?

-------

As the story says, to be fair, the family didn't make it easier on themselves in this case.
- When the cops came 'mom' didn't have a drivers' license.
- Grandpa was called to the scene and got so upset he tried to start a fight with the police and a knife in a case on his belt was taken from him.
- Drug paraphernalia was found in the car but no drugs. (To be fair, 'Drug paraphernalia' could be anything from 'rolling paper' - used for cigarettes or 'joints' - to a 'roach clip', needles, etc...)

-------

But seriously - it is now going to be illegal for a parent to make their kids WALK as a form of supervised punishment?!

This is what it means when Hillary says it takes a village to raise our kids. The government is going to get involved and make sure we do the things necessary to raise them right. That means we will get tickets if we don't do whatever the government wants us to do. It would be nice to make those decisions on our own but I guess the parents have to be treated like children themselves and be told what to do. Fuck OBama and his minions.
