Govt agencies told to prepare for mass firings in case of govt shutdown

It's not Democrats cutting peoples healthcare to give billionaires another tax cut.

There isn't a poll out there you can point to that has a majority of voters that supports it, and that includes Republicans.

Would you like for me to link some townhall events in some very red rural districts as a memory refresher from this past summer?

Republicans are going to lose the shut down fight, just like they lost the shut down fight in 2013, and every other time the government has shut down.

Tribal warfare not withstanding.
Totally meaningless deflection.

You are absolutely clueless as to what govt workers have been doing. They were “working” from home long before COVID - talking hikes, running errands, meeting friends for 2-hour lunches, lazing by the pool, getting in a quick round of golf, etc., etc.

What was even worse is that they were allowed “flex” weeks - where they “worked” from home 10 hours a day for four days a week. So they just had to pretend to work 2 more hours.

I even knew someone who traveled out of the country for WEEKS to visit her sister, took her laptop with her, and never took a day of annual leave. Did a couple of hours of work online per day, then the rest of the day sightseeing.

Total racket.
You are obviously making this up. Yes, people take two hour lunches. They call in sick when not sick. They goof off. I am no fan of gov, but this happens in all workplaces.

Your alleged goof offs don't generally laugh about this stuff. People generally keep is quiet. You are so lame with the detail that you can't even figure out how that give you away.

I'm on to you, tho
Whatever. Trump put a stop to all the nonsense.

Now, in my neighborhood, you can tell it’s a workday because there are so few cars at home. Now they actually have to go to the office.

Unfortunately, I believe that Schumer will back down in the face of this warning by Trump.

I wish he would defund the government due to the CR not having enough money for illegal alien healthcare and the other things that he is prioritizing over keeping the country functioning.

Use contingency funds to pay the essential workers and permanently pinkslip everyone else. They can write Christmas cards to Schumer as they pick up their holiday canned ham at the food banks.

Trump administration rehires hundreds of federal employees laid off by DOGE

The General Services Administration, which manages federal buildings, “didn’t have the people they needed to carry out basic functions," a former GSA real estate official said.

Hundreds? Wow! That’s a lot.

Federal employees will get back pay after the shutdown as a matter of federal law. Contractors probably won't.

If they are furloughed.

If they are fired, no dice.

Federal workers are the Democrat's only remaining reliable voters who actually earn paychecks. Maybe state worker also.

Would mass firings of government employees be a first for a government "shutdown"? Is this more bark than bite?

This great man once again has the Democrats over a barrel. Either they agree to his terms, or they lose thousands more government workers. It's absolutely brilliant strategy.

You DOGE suckers have been played.
