On a side note, open carry in California was only legal if the gun was unloaded. The California legislature changed the law recently to make it illegal whether loaded or not.

They also reworked all the doors to lock down making access from one part of the plant to another more difficult.

Meanwhile on my last trip to the theater, we got a five minute short on "What to do if a mass shooter starts shooting up the place."

NOt that much of the advice was useful, it was just there to mitigate potential lawsuits.

Eventually, people are going to get fed up with this shit.

About a year ago some rude jerk in front of me decided to use his phone during the movie. I politely said "turn it off". He did so immediately. He knew.

The founders crapped in chamber-pots and saw bleeding as a valid medical treatment. I think we can safely dismiss them on authorities on anything.

Now, yeah, it might have made sense in 1787 to have an armed citizen's militia when you had slow communications and transport, no professional police forces and no standing army. THat might have even been a good idea back then.

today- it really makes no sense to let people like Mercer, Loughner, Holmes, Lanza, Cho*, etc. have access to guns despite everyone in their lives knowing they are mentally unstable.

I don't live in such fear of my government that I am willing to live in fear of these kinds of assholes. That's like filling your yard with poisonous snakes because you are afraid of burglars.
